about me

my name is Keyton west and I am a 17 year old living in mid Devon. with my dad being a professor in anthropology and my mum working in the arts and mental health sectors I have grown up surrounded by inquisitive thinking about human nature and an appreciation and inspiration of many forms of art practices. after having received both a dyslexia and autism diagnosis in resent years I have branched out from simple participation in the arts and observation of my dads university practices. my diagnosis has allowed me to more freely and thoroughly explore my interests. a life long passion for drama has become a way of understanding people. after doing project based learning during the pandemic I was given the opportunity to go to the democratic school, sands who were instrumental in providing a safe environment for me to learn how to manage my anxiety. whilst there I served many terms on the schools student council. these experiences have helped me to feel able to embrace and indulge in my interests through museums, galleries, theatre companies, documentaries, books, articles as well as observation of the work of my parents their counterparts and other industry professionals.
